So I will recap the last 3 years of our lives. Cook and I married 8-17-07 and decided we would not have kids instead we would have all the cool toys. Our first anniversary I got a motorcycle. Not your typical 1st anniversary gift but we aren't the typical couple. Since then we have rode more than 5,000 miles together and experienced many cool adventures together. Then the big snowstorm January and February 2010 hit, as a teacher I love snow days, I am just like a kid.
Fast Forward 9 miserable months because I hated being pregnant and the worst was everyone telling me how great it was to be pregnant and I would forget it all when I delivered. I think they are crazy. I didn't forget it all in fact I still remember the swollen feet, not being able to go more than 5 minutes with out hitting the bathroom, not sleeping, checking my blood sugar 4 times a day I can go on but I'm sure you get the idea. I have to say its worth it now. I never thought my life would involve a kid...but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
A decided to join this world 3 weeks early, I thank her every night for this :) She weighed 5.5 and 18 inches in length. For the last 6 weeks I have laughed and played with the happiest and cutest baby. Just so you are jealous I also sleep 6-8 hours a night, she is just like me, loves to sleep. What can I say Cook and I have a great kid.
I also found having a kid makes adults do the DUMBEST things. Its funny to watch how people talk to babies, really they don't understand the baby talk and secretly they are laughing at how the adult is talking. If you haven't figured it out baby talk ranks right up there with Pooh. My favorite question is "Is it a boy?" Really did you just ask me that, she is dressed in all PINK!!!
Here is one of my favorite pics of A and her favorite Uncle. Never thought I would see my little bro holding or maybe I should say freaking the baby out!

Agree with you so much on the baby talk thing. Notice when I talk to her(when I'm not making motorcycle sounds)I talk to her the same as I would you or Cook. Why? Because she's a person, right now she's just a very small one. I want her to know that I will always be straight with her and that she can trust me not to feed her b.s. There's enough of that in the world for her to eventually deal with, she doesn't need it from her Uncle S.J.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Figured out why that one pic of her has me rolling. That's the exact same look her Daddy had in his eyes the night that he and I rode our bikes across that ice covered brige on I-81 at Dixie Caverns. Nothing but eyeballs inside that AGV.
